For the last three maybe even four years, we've been keeping a big secret which finally we are allowed to share with you!
Ever since launching Plum & Ashby, Vicky has been also working on the interiors and design concept for The Kedleston Country House hotel and restaurant, with her friends over at The Derby Brewing Company.
Using the Georgian II* listed building's features and researching that era, P&A have created a space that we think celebrates and brings out the best of the building. Using a traditional colour palette and a mixture of new and antique furniture, the interiors seamlessly blend. Vicky, along with Bertie, spent days at antique fairs and markets up and down the country making sure everything had the right look and feel, to sit within the beautiful red brick shell.
The Georgian Building
The ground floor of the Country House houses various areas, all with a very different use. The bright, flood light orangery is the perfect place to wake up to in the morning to have breakfast, where as the Snug provides the perfect place to sit back with an Ale and relax on leather sofa's and armchairs.
Vintage and antique chairs have been given a new lease of life. By taking off the old fabric and wadding, the frame's have been reupholstered in tactile new fabrics, buttoned and padded for comfort - we weren't sure the straw padding was the best base!

Mixing Plum & Ashby products
The project really was floor to ceiling, paint colours to tiles, curtains to rugs. With the original Georgian architecture playing part in the design, light fittings had to complement. From hanging shades to wall lights, the mix of materials needed to sit well in areas where they'd contrast.
