Our Favourite Instagrammers - Rosie Sugden

Welcome to our brand new weekly Instagram feature! Each week, we’re going to track down some of our favourite Instagram snappers and get the low down on their style, filter choice and who we all should be following.

In our first feature, we spoke to @RosieSugdenCashmere. We just can't resist her mix of lovely cashmere hats alongside stunning views of her home surroundings in picturesque Scotland. Read what she had to share with us below…

Describe your style in 5 words

This is hard as I don’t really know what my personal style is! It’s definitely casual, I love to wear off-pink , I like to be comfortable as I think this always helps you feel like yourself. I like loose silhouettes, and sometimes I think my style can be quite frothy especially if I am dressing up for an event or wedding.

What are the tools you use to create your feed?

Yes I try to keep my feed consistent. I’ve recently switched my alliance from Valencia filter to Gingham (crazy, right?) and I always put a white frame on. I just think it keeps it looking of one style and it’s easier for followers to digest and engage with.

Who or what inspires you?

I’m inspired by so many things, but art is a huge one. I love Denis Bowen and I am obsessed with Cy Twombly. I love the colours they use and the freedom in their work, and colour plays such an important part in my designs. I also love to travel, although I don’t get to do this as much as I’d like. I went to Japan last year on a trade mission and it blew my mind. The culture is just so rich, both modern and historical. It was quite over whelming not being able to read anything but I loved just wandering around and genuinely feeling like I was in “Lost in Translation’!

If you had an extra hour in the day what would you do?

Depends on how my week was going, as sometimes I just want to sleep!! But I think I would choose to spend it with friends or I would go riding - I love to ride and be outside in the fresh air. The Scottish Borders, where I’m from, has the most wonderful scenery and landscape for riding. It helps me clear my head and forget about work, emails and my “to-do” list!

What is your personal motto?

Be patient, polite and persistent.

Who else should we follow on instagram? Who's your top three?

My friend Karen Mabon - she designs the most fantastical silk scarves and is a hugely talented illustrator. Her feed is fun and you really get an insight into her inspirations and specific taste in art and film.

Pernille Teisbaek (LookdePernille) I love her style. I think instagram is so saturated with bloggers wearing the same outfits and to me she really stands out as someone who has great personal individual style. I love the proportions of her clothes, her understated hair and make-up, and her choice of accessories. Plus she loves a good beanie!

And lastly, Mr Biscuit the pug! It would be embarrassing to name how many famous pugs and dachshunds I follow, but he is my favourite!

Oh and I really love Martha Ward’s instagram! Makes me realise how much more broderie anglaise I need in my wardrobe!

Thanks so much for your time and answers, Rosie! If you want a slice of Scotland and cashmere, and why wouldn't you, then go and follow @rosiesugdencashmere!
