We've all had a love affair with Paris at one time or another, dreaming of sitting outside a charming French cafe, sipping on a coffee and watching the world go by... Well, with our favourite instagrammer this week, @parisianlyyours, you can rekindle that love affair every single day!
Catherine's feed is full of the day to day of a true Parisian, from shots of inviting cafes to divine views of streets and that very familiar landmark! It's a real pleasure to explore.
Catherine has also just celebrated 1 year of her blog, parisianlyyours.com! There's so much lovely content on there and definitely one to explore! Read our chat with Catherine below!
Describe your style in 5 words
Authentic, simple, comfortable, poetic, efficient
What are the tools you use to create your feed?
My favourite tool is definitely my Sony Alpha 6000 camera. It is so light and convenient, and perfect for creating visual effects such as blur. I also use my iPhone 6 for "simpler" pictures. On my iPhone, I love the Camera+ app because it allows for some sophistication.
I like both VSCO and Afterlight for retouching. I tend to use VSCO for color pics and Afterlight for B&W ones. I only use Instagram filters. I often use Slumber, Crema or Sierra depanding on the mood of the pic.
(Just in case you think it might be interesting to share it, I wrote this blog post more or less on the subject !)
Who or what inspires you?
Action and results inspire me. I tend to come up with so many ideas I sometimes get lost. What keeps me grounded is the "next step" thrill. I love to see an idea turn into something real.
If you had an extra hour in the day what would you do?
With a nice weather, I would grab my camera and stroll Paris little streets to bring more pretty pictures! If I'd have to stay indoors, I'd probably be reading yet another travel guide and organise an upcoming trip.
What is your personal motto?
Never hope for it more than you work for it.
Who else should we follow on instagram? Who's your top three?
@heidimillustration pretty drawings always steal my heart
@kieselle poetic pictures and magic light are a must. Especially love her #mypastelpassion
I never miss @thetrottergirl pics from around the world.
